The fine print

Terms & Conditions.

Plain-English rules for using Gospify. No tricks, no dark patterns — just the basics every app needs.

Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using Gospify ("the App") on iOS, macOS, or Android, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

We may update these terms from time to time as the app evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Permitted use

Gospify is provided for personal, non-commercial Bible study. You may:

  • Use every feature freely, on every device you own.
  • Share verse cards and achievements via the built-in share sheets.
  • Sync your progress across your own devices via iCloud (iOS / macOS) or your signed-in Supabase account (Android).

You may not:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the app.
  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
  • Redistribute app content outside the built-in sharing flows.
  • Attempt to access other users' data, circumvent authentication, or abuse the Lumen AI endpoints.
  • Scrape, automate, or otherwise generate traffic against the Lumen proxy that isn't a human using the app.

Content & intellectual property

Bible text in Gospify uses the World English Bible (WEB) translation, which is in the public domain. Verse-comparison previews of KJV, NIV, ESV, and NASB are used under fair-use excerpting.

All other content — lesson designs, study notes, app design, frescoes (public-domain), typography hierarchy, graphics, the Lumen system prompts, and the Gospify brand — is the intellectual property of Honorius M. Neogy.

AI-generated responses from Lumen are provided as-is for educational purposes. They are not authoritative theological counsel. Always consult your pastor, priest, or trusted spiritual advisor for important theological questions.

The curriculum is provided for educational purposes. While every effort is made to ensure theological accuracy and faithful representation of Scripture, the app is not a substitute for pastoral guidance, formal theological education, or participation in a faith community.

AI features (Lumen)

"Ask Lumen" is the optional AI-powered study companion. When you send a question, it is transmitted to the Gospify API proxy (a server operated by the developer) and forwarded to Anthropic's Claude AI for processing. Your messages are not sent directly to Anthropic from the app.

Messages are not stored on the proxy beyond the immediate request-response cycle. Chat history lives only on your device. Anthropic's published policy states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models.

Lumen AI is subject to a daily credit limit (currently 5 free messages per day). Credits reset at midnight local time. The developer reserves the right to adjust the daily credit allowance as needed to maintain sustainability.

Crash & performance diagnostics

The app automatically collects anonymous crash reports, non-fatal error logs, and performance metrics using Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Performance Monitoring. These diagnostics contain no personal data — only device model, OS version, app version, and anonymous technical information needed to identify and fix bugs.

On iOS, Apple's MetricKit may also provide additional crash and performance diagnostics through the operating system's standard diagnostic pipeline. By using the app, you consent to this automatic collection for the purpose of improving the service.

Free service

Gospify is provided free of charge. There are no ads, no in-app purchases, and no premium subscription tiers. All features — including lessons, study tools, quests, and AI-powered chat — are available to every user at no cost.

The developer reserves the right to introduce optional premium features or a voluntary support tier in the future. If premium features are introduced, all currently free features will remain free. Pricing and terms will be clearly disclosed before any purchase, and all transactions will be subject to the platform store's own refund policy (Apple App Store or Google Play).

Currency & cosmetics

Gospify uses in-app currencies — Manna (XP), Embers (streaks), and Mites (gems spent in the Shop). None of these can be purchased with real money. All cosmetics are earned exclusively through in-app study and quests. Nothing in the Shop is pay-to-win, and no feature is gated behind a paywall.

If a future version of the app introduces optional paid items, pricing and purchase terms will be clearly disclosed before purchase and subject to the platform store's own refund policy (Apple or Google).

Disclaimer

Gospify is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free content, or that the app will meet every personal need.

The app is a study aid — not a substitute for a faith community, pastoral counseling, sacramental life, or professional theological education.

We are not responsible for data loss caused by device failure, uninstall, or failure to enable cloud sync. If sync is important to you, please enable iCloud (iOS / macOS) or sign in (Android).

Termination

You may stop using Gospify at any time by uninstalling the app. Locally stored data is removed on uninstall. Cloud data (iCloud or Supabase) remains until you delete it — see the Privacy Policy for the deletion process.

We reserve the right to suspend individual accounts found to be abusing the Lumen proxy or attempting to circumvent security measures, and to discontinue the app or modify features with reasonable notice where possible.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of the developer's residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force.

Nothing in these terms limits any non-waivable rights you have as a consumer in your country of residence.
